CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Mysore-Style Ashtanga
Think private lesson in a group setting. This method is taught to the student one posture at a time, starting with the Primary Series. Each posture is customized for the students needs, and people are going at their own pace. The guide (teacher) will help you with verbal cueing and teaching, may offer some hands on guidance with consent. We use consent cards every day to communicate about hands on guidance. The use of props, chairs and walls are used as well to help the student find connection to breath and meditation. You may start at any time during the class time listing, but we ask that you end your practice by the listed end time—-people are entering and exiting during the listed practice time.
Led Primary or Half Primary Class
This is the class where the guide leads the group in unison and we all practice the series together. Please arrive at listed start time.
Hatha Yoga Meditation
This class is led as a group and explores various asanas (postures) as they are held for longer periods of time to allow for connection with breath and meditation. We will use chairs and props for proper alignment, support and connection. Each posture is customized to your needs.
Guided Pranayama
This is a class specific to guiding you through breath-work exercises.
Sunday Conference
This is a time for community to gather , have tea and ask specific questions regarding your practice or your studies. We will also discuss sacred texts and do some chanting. This is free for all students of this school.
To practice with us via livestream, register for class through the studio calendar. Here are two important things you need to know in order for the livestream to work:
BEFORE you register, LOG IN FIRST! (Otherwise, you won’t have access to the broadcast link after you register.) After you’ve registered for class, you will be able to see a “View Broadcast” link.
If you’re viewing from your phone, you’ll need to download the free Zoom app. You can find that in your phone’s app store or go to https://zoom.us/
After you register for class, you’ll see a “view broadcast” link in the calendar underneath the “Deregister” link. That’s the link you’ll use to take class. Another helpful hint: sign in to your TULA account and you will see all your upcoming classes, along with the broadcast links. A super easy way to access all your classes in one spot!
